'ALIEN STORY' - TOY STORY / ALIEN MASH UP PAINTING
Going through a 5 year old sketch book I found this little doodle of an Alien looking at a very badly drawn Buzz Lightyear, mirroring / parodying / mashing up the famous shot from David Fincher’s Alien 3 film. I could not believe I had not done this as a painting and it had been lost to hustle bustle of commissions and murals. So Alien Story was born!
Aliens are a pain to paint, they are a shiny black and reflect whatever colour is around them, some are grey, green, brown, they have no eyes, no real size, no smile, a pain. So I tried to paint him / her a bit like if they were animated by Pixar.
Buzz on the other hand was great fun and easy to paint… I particularly love the sacred look on his face .. can you blame him!
In space no one can here you scream to infinity and beyond!
This is a real original painting; it is not a print of any kind digital or otherwise.
The painting is in high-grade acrylic paint varnished with a matt spray varnish, on a pure cotton box canvas. The canvas measures 31 inches x 15 inches on a box canvas of 2 inches deep, the sides of the canvas are painted with a wrap around effect, no nails or staples and ready to hang.
